Varanasi: Two Boats Collide in Ganges, All Pilgrims Rescued

A collision between two boats on the Ganges near Man Ghat in Varanasi resulted in a small boat sinking, carrying six people. The NDRF and boatmen's swift action ensured their safety. Even the 58 tourists on the larger boat panicked. The water police have advised caution among the boatmen.

This Friday morning in the spiritual city of Kashi, what could have been a major mishap on the Ganges was narrowly avoided. A smaller boat sank after colliding with another boat near Man Ghat, but fortunately, all tourists were rescued in time. According to reports, six tourists aboard the smaller boat were traveling from Assi Ghat towards Namo Ghat. During this journey, a larger boat carrying 58 tourists collided with it.

The impact was so intense that the smaller boat capsized, and all its occupants fell into the Ganges. The collision caused panic among the tourists on the larger boat and chaos ensued at the ghat.

A Small Boat Collides with a Larger One in the Ganges

Upon hearing the commotion, nearby boatmen acted swiftly, bringing their boats to the scene to rescue the individuals at risk of drowning. The water police and NDRF immediately began rescue operations, and all individuals were safely transferred to the larger boat.

All Tourists Safely Rescued

The successful rescue brought relief to those on the banks of the Ganges. Water police and local authorities have urged boatmen to exercise caution and operate boats with greater vigilance. Thankfully, there was no loss of life in this incident.
