When queries about Vaibhav's true age arose, with speculations saying he is actually 15, his father was quick to clear the air. Sanjeev Suryavanshi explained to PTI, 'When he was just 8.5 years, he passed the BCCI bone test for the first time. He has already played for India's Under-19 team. We have nothing to hide and are open to more 'Age Tests.'
From a tender age, Vaibhav had a cricketing spark. Born in Mothipur, Samastipur district, his father Sanjeev launched him into cricket nets at just five. Setting up practice at home, Sanjeev ensured Vaibhav joined a cricket academy in Samastipur, eventually leading to advanced training at Jesus Academy, Patna, under Manish Ojha.

Emotional post the IPL auction, Sanjeev revealed he sold his farmland to fuel his 10-year-old's cricket dream. A proud landowner in Mothipur, 15 km from Samastipur, Sanjeev's sacrifices highlighted his son’s burgeoning success.
To PTI, Sanjeev expressed, 'He isn't just our son now, he's the pride of Bihar.' Currently representing in the Under-19 Asia Cup in Dubai, Vaibhav's arduous journey spoke volumes. At eight, he dazzled in the Under-16 district trials; Sanjeev personally commuted him to Samastipur cricket coaching sessions.

After the Rajasthan Royals snatched Vaibhav during the two-day IPL player auction in Saudi Arabia, his family in Tajpur, Samastipur, burst into celebration, cutting cakes to mark this joyous occasion. Vaibhav’s selection turned his home into a mini-carnival with his father Sanjeev, mother, elder and younger brothers, and friends like Umesh Kaushik and Saurabh Gupta joining the festivities.
