Uttarakhand Encounter Ends Notorious Sharpshooter

In a late-night clash with Uttarakhand's STF and Haridwar Police, one of the accused in the murder of Baba Tarsem Singh, head of Nanakmatta Gurudwara's Dera Kar Sewa, was fatally shot. The encounter resulted in the assailant's death while his accomplice managed to escape, and is now being actively sought.

Known as a prominent Sikh figure in Punjab and the Terai regions, Tarsem Singh's murder has shaken the community. Sarabjit Singh, revealed to be the perpetrator, has accepted responsibility for the careful and deliberate act.

According to reports, Amarjit Singh, identified as the main shooter, was taken down by joint efforts of the Uttarakhand STF and Haridwar Police in Bhagwanpur area during an encounter. Amarjit was a partner in crime and the squads are now relentlessly pursuing the second fugitive.

Haridwar's SSP Parminder Dobhal confirmed the clash between the police forces and sharpshooter Amarjit Singh alias Bittu in Bhagwanpur, which led to the neutralization of a key suspect wanted for over 16 criminal cases.

The DGP of Uttarakhand, Abhinav Kumar, mentioned that the police and STF have been on the hunt since Tarsem's assassination, vowing that such heinous criminals will be dealt with sternly by Uttarakhand police.

March 28th marked the dark day of Tarsem Singh's murder

On the fateful day of March 28th, Tarsem Singh was mortally wounded by two assailants. He was shot at close range. At the time, Sarabjit Singh was piloting the motorcycle with Amarjit Singh alias Bittu seated behind him; it was Amarjit who fired the fatal shots at Tarsem Singh.

Amarjit initially fired once at Tarsem Singh, then turned the bike around to deliver a second, final shot before fleeing the scene.

In the aftermath, Tarsem Singh was rushed to a hospital by the Dera's servants, but tragically, he had already succumbed to his injuries. Baba Tarsem Singh was a significant Sikh leader in Punjab, Uttarakhand, and especially the Terai region.

The police have named Sarabjit Singh, Amarjit Singh, Harbans Singh Chugh, Preetam Singh Sandhu from Khempur Gadarapur, and Jathedar Baba Anoop Sih in connection with this grievous incident.
