After sporadic light showers, Uttar Pradesh has seen some reprieve from the heat. Yet, the heatwave continues to ravage certain regions, with weather bulletins forecasting strong winds accompanying rainfall in numerous areas. The state recently recorded the highest temperature in the country, with Orai in Western Uttar Pradesh registering a blazing 44.6 degrees Celsius on June 21. Let's delve into the weather forecast for the coming days and the latest updates on the approaching monsoon season.
Rain Expected in 24 Districts Today
The monsoon has already made its presence felt in Bihar, with effects spilling over into adjacent areas of Uttar Pradesh. This has brought a mild atmosphere to Eastern Uttar Pradesh while the west still endures the heat, though there's some relief compared to before. The weather forecast for today intimates possible showers or thunderstorms across the state. Western Uttar Pradesh may continue to experience the heatwave conditions. Additionally, winds may gust at speeds of 30-40 kilometers per hour. According to the IMD, 24 districts in the state might receive rainfall on Saturday.
Weather Outlook for Uttar Pradesh in the Coming Days
Yesterday, Orai, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Hardoi, and Fursatganj were among the hottest places in UP. The Meteorological Department anticipates the heatwave conditions to persist in Western Uttar Pradesh until June 24, followed by light rains in some regions. Come June 25, most areas are expected to witness increasing rain activities, often referred to as pre-monsoon showers.

In some localities, heavy downpours are possible, signaling the onset of the monsoon within the state boundaries.
What Are the Latest Monsoon Updates?
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon entered Bihar through Purnia and Kishanganj on June 20. It is predicted to take 3-4 days to reach Uttar Pradesh, leading to heavy showers by next week. Therefore, by June 25, the monsoon is expected to knock on the borders of UP, adjacent to Bihar. Following this, the monsoon will gradually advance and is likely to cover the entire state by June 30.
