On March 11, police discovered the body of a woman in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh. The body, found behind Ward No. 1 in East Mahal, was identified as Mamta Srivastava. Initial investigations indicated that she had been strangled to death.
This incident caused a sensation in the entire area. When the police investigated the scene, they confirmed someone had strangled her. From the beginning, the police suspected it was the work of someone known to the victim.

Second Lover Was Already Married, Unwilling for Second Marriage
During further investigation, the police reached Mamta's lover, Nandu Yadav, who also lived in the Windmganj police station area. During questioning, Nandu revealed that Mamta was pressuring him to marry her. However, Nandu was already married and was not willing to engage in another relationship.
Fed up with Mamta's constant pressure, Nandu decided to eliminate her. He lured her to Robertsganj and strangled her with her scarf. After the murder, he fled the scene, leaving her body behind Ward No. 1 in East Mahal.
Mamta Had Her Husband Killed by Her First Lover
CO Rahul Pandey revealed that on February 3, 2022, Mamta and her first lover, Lavkush Srivastava, conspired to murder her husband, Rajeev Srivastava. Following that incident, Lavkush was imprisoned.
Nandu Yadav was Mamta's second lover. She pressured him to marry her due to his financial status. However, Nandu was not ready for this relationship, which led him to the decision to murder Mamta.
