US Presidential Election 2024: Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris faces a significant setback. In three polls, she is getting tough competition from former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, with Trump showing a slight lead over Indian-origin Harris in all three surveys.

The state of Pennsylvania is considered very crucial in US presidential elections, and two surveys conducted here indicate that Trump has a slight lead over Harris. Additionally, in a third national survey, Harris is trailing behind Trump.

Pennsylvania has 19 electoral votes. In a survey conducted by Cygnal and Emerson College in this state, Trump appears to be leading for the presidency. According to a survey conducted between August 14 and 15 among 800 likely voters, Trump received 44% support, while Harris got 43% of the votes.

Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. secured 5% of the votes in this survey. Cygnal and Emerson also conducted a survey in July, in which Trump received 2% fewer votes than this time.

Trump Leads in Another Survey

In another survey conducted by Emerson College for RealClearPennsylvania on August 13-14 among 1,000 likely voters, both Trump and Harris stood almost equal at 47%, with independent candidates receiving 3% of the votes.

National Poll Shows Trump Ahead of Harris

Trump also leads Harris in a national survey. In the Neapolitan News Service survey conducted by RMG Research between August 12-14 among 2,708 likely voters, Trump was shown 1 point ahead. While Harris received 45% of the votes, Trump secured 46%.

On July 21, President Joe Biden announced that he would withdraw from the presidential race and endorse Kamala Harris. He said, 'Today, I want to lend my full support to Kamala as our party's candidate. It is time to come together and defeat Trump.'
