American political analyst Ian Bremmer has described the recent meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump as one of the most successful bilateral talks Trump has had with global leaders.

Speaking to India Today, Bremmer highlighted the meeting's significance against the backdrop of anticipated deteriorating relations between the U.S. and China. The Trump administration is planning to form a new alliance to sharpen its competitive edge in trade against Beijing.

Strained Relations Between U.S. and China Expected

He stated, 'The meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Trump was the most successful because the relationships between the U.S. and China are expected to worsen. The Trump administration seeks to create a trade alliance with like-minded countries to decouple major supply chains, resources, and advanced technologies from China. This policy to contain China won't be easily accepted by Beijing, but it elevates India's importance.'

Bremer also noted America's desire to bolster its defense ties with India. The Trump administration aims to increase sales of U.S. military equipment and foster a strengthened partnership between tech companies from both nations.

India's Strategic Edge Over Saudi and Israel

He pointed out, 'The Trump administration desires a robust defense partnership with India, intending to increase sales of American military hardware. Additionally, enhancing tech partnerships is fostering stronger strategic alignment between India and the U.S. Among countries like Saudi Arabia and Israel, India enjoys a more favorable standing with the Trump administration.'

This collaborative movement signals a pivotal moment in U.S.-India relations, showcasing India's emerging global influence, particularly in the strategic and technological spheres.
