UP PCS Exam 2024 New Date:
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has postponed the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Service (Preliminary) Exam 2024, known as the UP PCS exam, and announced a new exam date. Following a four-day protest by candidates outside the UPPSC head office in Prayagraj, the Commission has agreed to the candidates’ demand for a 'One Day, One Shift' exam. The exam will now be conducted in a single day. A notice with details has been published on the official website.
The latest notice on UPPSC's official website, uppsc.up.nic.in, states: 'The Preliminary Exam of Combined State/Upper Subordinate Service 2024, initially scheduled over two days on 7th and 8th December 2024, will now be held in a single day on 22nd December 2024, in two sessions. The first session will be from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the second from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Over 1 million (10,76,004) candidates are expected to take the exam.'

UP PCS Exam Postponed for the Fourth Time
According to UPPSC's exam calendar, the UP PCS 2024 preliminary exam was originally set for March 17, but due to the paper leak in the RO/ARO exam on February 11, five exams including PCS were postponed. It was then scheduled for June, and again for October, before being set for December 7 and 8, which has now been postponed to December 22 due to candidate protests (fourth postponement).
When Will UP RO/ARO Recruitment Exam Be Held?
Following intervention by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the commission has accepted the candidates' demand for 'One Day, One Shift' and removed normalization practices. An official notification has been released on the commission's website. However, the exam dates for UP PCS and RO/ARO remain undisclosed. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the website for the latest updates.
