The Dalit community, which previously rode the 'elephant' of the BSP, is now resolved to support the Azad Samaj Party of the Bhim Army in Uttar Pradesh's Mirapur by-election. The Azad Samaj Party has nominated Zahid Hussain as their candidate, while the Bahujan Samaj Party has fielded Shahnazr, also from the Muslim community.

Experts suggest that both parties aim to attract the Dalit and Muslim vote bank to secure victory in this election.

It is notable that in the Mirapur assembly seat, there are approximately 60 thousand Dalit voters and around 125 thousand Muslim voters. If the Dalit community shifts its support from the BSP to the Azad Samaj Party and garners some backing from the Muslim community, the Dalit-Muslim alliance could easily lead the Azad Samaj Party's candidate to victory.

Discussing the regional sentiment of the Dalit community, they frankly state that there was an era when they stood with the Bahujan Samaj Party. Now, 95% have aligned with Chandrashekhar Azad. This time, the Dalit community in Mirapur's by-election is set to create history.
