BJP's Performance in the 2014 and 2019 Elections
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP, along with the NDA allies, secured a landslide victory in 73 out of UP's 80 seats. However, the SP-BSP-RLD alliance in 2019 slightly disrupted BJP's tally, resulting in 64 wins. The focus now intensifies on the 14 seats they aim to clinch.
In 2019, BJP lost these 16 seats
The 2019 Lok Sabha polls saw BJP lose seats in Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rae Bareli, Ghosi, Lalganj, Jaunpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Ghazipur, Shravasti, Mainpuri, Saharanpur, Azamgarh, Rampur, and Nagina. BSP claimed ten seats, SP took five, and Congress won one, but subsequent by-election victories in Azamgarh and Rampur have put BJP back in the race, now with 14 seats in their crosshairs.
