The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has taken a firm stance against the misuse of drones. He made it clear that anyone trying to spread panic or disrupt public order through drones will face action under the Gangster Act and, if necessary, the National Security Act (NSA).
With a zero-tolerance policy on drones, he announced that flying drones without permission is completely prohibited. Violators of this order will face severe legal consequences. This stringent measure by the state government comes in response to the rising incidents of alleged drone sightings, which have created a sense of fear and confusion among people in several districts.
In a statement issued by the Chief Minister's office on Sunday, it was declared, "Those spreading terror through drones will face the Gangster Act, and if required, NSA will be imposed." The statement also noted that the Principal Secretary (Home) and Director General of Police have been instructed to review drone activities in all districts. They have been directed to ensure that drone operations are fully controlled and regulated by law.
