A heart-wrenching hit-and-run incident has emerged from the Sadar Kotwali area of Unnao district. The car, linked to MLA Saroj Kuril of Apna Dal from the Ghatampur seat in Kanpur, bearing a Lucknow registration, first collided with an e-rickshaw and then struck a motorcycle.
In the aftermath, the biker plummeted approximately 30 feet from a railway bridge, sustaining severe injuries. Onlookers promptly alerted the police and called for an ambulance, but it did not arrive in time. The injured was rushed to the hospital in a private vehicle, where doctors pronounced him dead. The deceased was identified as Ashu Gupta, a BJP leader's brother.
MLA’s Car Hits Young Man
The police recovered the car from the accident site, within which they found the MLA's pass and empty beer cans. It is suspected that the vehicle was being driven under the influence. The driver fled the scene post-incident. The police, with the help of a hydra crane, later removed the car, and the body was sent for post-mortem.
Police File Case Following Youth’s Death
The victim's brother has leveled serious allegations against the MLA and is demanding strict action. Unnao SP Deepak Bakra reported that a case has been registered, and investigations have commenced. MLA Saroj Kuril clarified that her driver was operating the vehicle, and she was in Lucknow at the time of the incident.
