The monsoon session of Parliament commenced with dramatic flair as proceedings in both houses began. Opposition parties clearly signaled their intent not to relax tension over Operation Sindoor and the special intensive revision of the electoral roll in Bihar.

Parliament saw an uproar over Trump's war-halting claim. Amidst the chaos, a bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha. The first day also saw a proposal to remove Justice Yashwant Varma of the Allahabad High Court.

At the very outset, opposition members called for discussions on Pahalgam terrorist attacks, Operation Sindoor, and the ongoing SIR in Bihar, leading to chaos and slogans. Speaker Om Birla urged them to return to their seats to allow the Question Hour to proceed, but the appeals went unheeded, resulting in the adjournment of the house until noon.

When the Lok Sabha resumed at noon, opposition members once again stormed the well and began shouting slogans, demanding discussions on Operation Sindoor. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that the government was ready for discussions on all topics, urging the opposition to present their case at the Business Advisory Committee meeting.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh echoed this readiness for discussion. Chairman Jagdambika Pal addressed opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, urging the smooth conduct of proceedings.

The impeachment motion against Elijah High Court's Justice Yashwant Varma also emerged in both houses. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar announced receiving notices from over 50 members seeking to remove Justice Varma, noting that a signature count revealed an anomalous duplicate signature.

Rajya Sabha witnessed commotion as opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge demanded discussions on Trump's controversial war-halting claim and Operation Sindoor under Rule 267. Kharge raised the terrorist attacks while highlighting congressional solidarity with the government post-attack.

Leader of the House J.P. Nadda responded warmly to Kharge before countering his claims. He stated it was crucial for the public not to perceive the government as avoiding discussions on Operation Sindoor.

Despite disruptions, proceedings resumed, with the Aviation Safety Bill discussed during Question Hour. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu spoke about the safety of over half a million daily air travelers. Post-lunch, Shipping & Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal introduced the Landing Bill, amidst a walkout by opposition members. Just after debate participation by select opposition members, the bill passed by voice vote.

Before this, upon reopening, new members nominated by the President, including Dr. Meenakshi Jain, Sadanand Master, and Harsh Vardhan Shringla, alongside Birendra Prasad Baishya, were sworn in by the Chairperson. A discussion on the Ahmedabad plane crash ended solemnly, acknowledging the tragic event.
