President Donald Trump is facing significant opposition these days. He has taken control of Washington, deploying the National Guard there. His focus is shifting to Illinois's largest city, Chicago, where he plans the deployment of federal forces and aims to bring the city under control. Trump also dismissed a federal governor. Meanwhile, his critics accuse him of being tyrannical, to which he responds, "I am not a dictator."

On Monday, American President Donald Trump defended the deployment of the National Guard in Washington D.C. and suggested their use in other cities, if necessary. This move by Trump is surprising since surveys months ago showed that many Americans believed him to be a "dangerous dictator." Amidst this, his frustration with crime in Washington reached new heights, leading him to declare a crime emergency there.

On Monday, Trump signed an Executive Order assigning Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth with the task of training a special National Guard unit. This unit is specifically prepared to ensure "public safety" in Washington. The order also states that members will be deputized to enforce federal law and be ready for “rapid nationwide deployment.”

Trump stated, "I am not a dictator"

After passing the order, Trump mocked his critics at a White House event, saying, "They (critics) say we don't need that. Freedom, freedom... He's a dictator (referring to himself)" He further mentioned possible National Guard deployments in Chicago. Trump commented, "Many people suggest they might prefer a dictator, but I am not one. I am a sensible person with common sense."

The opposition party Democrats' accusation

In fact, Democratic leaders have described Trump's recent actions as tyrannical, stating that Trump is militarizing cities. A party senator remarked, "Trump is trying to militarize our cities to divert attention from his declining poll ratings. This is what dictators do."
