The challenges for iPhone manufacturer Apple don't seem to be subsiding anytime soon. U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a threatening 25% tariff on Apple. If the company does not manufacture iPhones in the U.S., this tariff may be applied. This is not the first time Trump has targeted Apple.

Previously, Trump advised Apple against manufacturing in India. While Apple was already transitioning its manufacturing from China to India and other countries, Trump's tariff strategy might disrupt the company's plans.

On his social media platform, Truth Social, Donald Trump posted, 'I told Apple CEO Tim Cook some time ago that their iPhones sold in the U.S. should be made here, not in India or any other country.' He added, 'If that doesn't happen, Apple will have to pay at least a 25% tariff in the U.S.'

Apple, Trump, and tariffs have been a hot topic for several days. When Trump announced tariffs on China, it posed a huge challenge for Apple. To evade these tariffs, the company planned to shift its manufacturing to India and other regions, but Trump insists that smartphones sold in the U.S. be manufactured domestically.

This decision by Trump is expected to increase iPhone prices in the U.S. market. Not only will prices rise, but sales might also be hit. Apple is a leading American technology company, and such announcements by the President could lead to substantial losses.

In recent days, when Trump announced tariffs on both China and India, Apple quickly dispatched a large number of iPhones to the U.S. These iPhones were made in China and India and were air-shipped by the company to the U.S. However, at the time, Trump extended the tariff enforcement dates.

This isn't the first instance of Trump making such remarks. Recently, he made similar statements during a business meeting in Doha. Trump mentioned speaking with Tim Cook, advising against manufacturing iPhones in India.

Trump remarked that he told Tim Cook, 'My friend, I'm treating you very well. You're bringing in $500 billion, but now I hear you're manufacturing in India. I don't want you to manufacture there.'
