President Donald Trump has categorically denied reports suggesting an offer to assist Iran with a $30 billion aid package. He vehemently criticized the circulating reports as 'another sick misrepresentation by the fake news media.'

The speculative reports suggested the Trump administration was planning to provide Iran with $30 billion (about 2.57 trillion INR) in aid and alleviate sanctions. Trump has now personally cleared the air on this matter.

Through his social media post, Trump stated, 'Who is the sick person in the fake news media saying that President Trump wants to give Iran $30 billion to develop non-military nuclear facilities.' He added, 'I have never heard anything so absurd. This is yet another lie trying to tarnish my image through fake news. These people are sick.'

What Was Being Claimed?

Previously, some media reports alleged that following recent attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, the Trump administration was crafting a new strategy and preparing for an agreement with Tehran. This alleged proposal included $30 billion for a civil nuclear program, plus incentives like easing sanctions and releasing frozen funds to bring Iran to the negotiation table. However, Iran's steadfast stance on enrichment and regional complexities cast doubt on the agreement's future.

US Strikes on Iran

Last week, the US launched significant attacks on three major Iranian nuclear sites, Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. President Trump claimed these operations successfully dismantled Iran's nuclear program. However, experts believe that while the facilities suffered substantial damage, they were not completely destroyed.

Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful and retains the right to enrichment under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Tehran has already expressed disagreement over the US proposal's demand for a complete enrichment ban.

As of now, Trump has explicitly stated that he neither proposed nor supported any such initiatives. His remarks aim to quash the spreading rumors.
