Ludhiana Blue Drum Murder:
The community of Sherpur in Ludhiana district was shaken when a blue drum containing a corpse was discovered, sparking widespread concern. The meticulously planned manner in which the body was concealed—wrapped in plastic inside the drum—suggests a calculated and premeditated murder. This incident harks back to the grim Meerut case where a woman named Muskan, along with her lover, Sahil Shukla, killed her husband and encased his body in a blue drum filled with cement. However, the current case differs as the victim's identity remains unknown.
The alarming discovery was made by local residents troubled by a foul odor emanating from vacant land in Sherpur. Upon investigation, they found a blue plastic drum that aroused suspicion, prompting them to call the police immediately. The horrifying scene that awaited them upon opening the drum revealed a body wrapped in a plastic sack. Shockingly, the victim’s feet and neck were bound with ropes, indicating a violent crime.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Kulwant Kaur from Division No. 6, the deceased appears to be a migrant laborer approximately 35 years old. The severely decomposed condition of the body, coupled with visible injuries, suggests the murder occurred two to three days prior. The body has been sent to the civil hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
In a significant investigative undertaking, the police have identified that the drum was recently purchased. They compiled a list of 42 manufacturers in Ludhiana that produce similar drums and are interrogating them to discover recent buyers.

The police have widened their investigation by examining CCTV footage within a five-kilometer radius of the crime scene. Surveillance cameras at the railway station, bus stand, and other public venues are being reviewed for any suspicious activities. Several vehicle plates spotted nearby are also under scrutiny.
Although several leads have emerged, the lack of the victim's identity poses a significant hurdle in the investigation. Without any missing person reports or identification, questions loom: Was this individual a migrant laborer? Who did they live with? What sparked such violent actions?
This case is more than a murder—it's transformed into a complex mystery. The injuries, the tied limbs, and the rope around the neck all hint towards an orchestrated and deliberate crime scene. Police are examining potential links to human trafficking, personal animosity, or illicit relationships.
The mystery of the blue drum and the nameless body continues to perplex Ludhiana police, with the investigation ongoing until the victim's identity is confirmed. The city remains restless, eager to uncover the truth behind this unknown life lost.

The Meerut Case:
A similar story echoes in the case of 29-year-old Saurabh Kumar in Meerut. He was murdered by his 26-year-old wife Muskan Rastogi, who conspired with her 28-year-old lover Sahil Shukla. Saurabh, who misled Muskan about his job in the merchant navy, married her in 2016 and had a daughter. When Saurabh moved to London for work, Muskan grew close to Sahil. Their relationship intensified, leading to addictions and eventual murder. The plot was foiled when the landlord exposed the affair to Saurabh, initiating divorce proceedings. On March 3, after sending their daughter away, Muskan and Sahil executed their deadly plan—Saurabh was first attacked with a knife and then further harmed until lifeless. His body was dismembered, placed in a blue drum, and sealed with cement, erasing him from existence.
