An astounding incident has come to light from Punjab. A local Patiala family claims that their 10-year-old girl died after eating a birthday cake ordered online. A video, surfaced on social media hours before her death, shows her celebrating her birthday, visibly filled with joy and happiness. She appears healthy in the video. The family alleges that shortly after eating the cake, her condition deteriorated, her body turned cold, and she was declared dead upon hospital arrival.
Police have stated that they will investigate the origins of the cake and have already sent the girl's body for autopsy. Named Manvi, an FIR has been filed based on the family's statements. Police officer Surinder Singh mentioned that the investigation is ongoing to trace where the cake came from, which will determine further actions.
In a video, the girl's grandfather narrates, 'We ordered the cake online. It arrived by 6:25 PM, and by 6:45 PM, we cut the cake. After eating, everybody at home started feeling sick, experiencing dizziness. The two little girls, one being the 10-year-old birthday girl named Manvi and the other only 8, began vomiting. The younger one vomited out all the cake, yet both remained in a serious condition.'
He continues, 'The older one, Manvi, didn't vomit out the cake. Foam came out of her mouth twice. We assumed it was just a bout of vomiting and that she would recover. Later, she fell asleep. Later, she asked for water, complaining of extreme thirst, before going back to sleep. Around 4 AM, we discovered she was cold. We rushed her to the hospital, where doctors administered oxygen and performed an ECG but declared her deceased.'
After filing the FIR and sending the body for post-mortem, the family has accused the health department of inaction and expressed their indignation. This incident has heightened public concerns regarding the safety of online food deliveries, urging delivery platforms to scrutinize food before delivering to customers.
