In a harrowing incident, terrorists claimed the life of a worker from Bihar by opening fire on him in Anantnag's Bijbehara area, specifically in Jablipora, which resulted in serious injuries. He succumbed to his wounds after being taken to the hospital. The tragedy unfolded in Anantnag's parliamentary constituency, which is gearing up for the third phase of voting on May 7.
The deceased has been identified as Raja Shah, son of Shankar Shah of Bihar. He sustained two bullet wounds to his neck and two to his abdomen. The authorities have cordoned off the area in pursuit of the assailants.
Former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed his condolences, sharply condemning the heinous attack in Bijbehara that resulted in the senseless violence and death of Raja Shah from Bihar. 'This must end. People want peace, but terrorists don't,' Azad stated, emphasizing the need for unity against such violent acts. Mehbooba Mufti too decried the insensitive act of violence, extending her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Farooq Abdullah also conveyed his sorrow over the death of Raja Shah. He condemned the violent attack, asserting that such acts of terror disrupt peace in Jammu & Kashmir.
