In a tragic turn of events, six children were pronounced dead after a horrific accident occurred in Mahendragarh, Haryana. Early Thursday morning, a school bus lost control and flipped over, carrying around 35 to 40 children onboard. Tragically, six children were in critical condition immediately after the mishap and were rushed to the nearest hospital, but five children had already succumbed to their injuries prior to their arrival. One grievously injured child was placed on a ventilator during treatment; however, this child also soon passed away.
The local police have confirmed that the accident took place in the Kanina town of Mahendragarh district. The bus involved in the accident belonged to a private school. Approximately 15 children were injured in the accident which occurred near the Kanina-Dadri road.

Investigations underway, was the driver under the influence?
The local populace was quick to respond to the accident, with many rushing to the scene. There are claims by the locals that the bus driver was under the influence of alcohol. The police and administrative teams arrived shortly after and commenced rescue operations, ensuring the injured children were hospitalized. Following the locals' allegations, the police began investigating whether the bus driver was indeed intoxicated while driving.
There were 35 to 40 children on the school bus
According to reports, the bus that overturned was close to the village of Unhani. This bus was from GL Public School, a private educational institution. It was noted that the school was operational even on a government-declared holiday, and the bus had been dispatched to pick up the students.
One child succumbs on ventilator
After the accident, local residents initiated an immediate rescue operation. Five children were already dead, and one was critically injured, who was on a ventilator post-hospital admission. Later, this child, too, lost the battle for life, raising the death toll to six.

A video filmed by the locals who were rescuing the children has emerged after the accident, clearly showing the bus in a demolished state. The surroundings depict a harrowing scene with children, bloodied and injured, being prepared for urgent medical attention.
