On a fateful Sunday morning in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, a horrific road accident resulted in the deaths of two women and left four others seriously injured. The tragedy struck when a group of doctors from Maharashtra, during their journey, crashed their SUV into a roadside culvert, causing it to plummet into a ditch. This devastating incident occurred around 7:30 AM on the Guna-Shivpuri road in the Kolaras police station area.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (SDOP) Vijay Yadav reported that the vehicle involved in the accident had six doctors on board. They were all residents of Maharashtra on a religious pilgrimage. The tragic accident took place while they were traveling from Ayodhya to Ujjain, as their SUV lost control, crashed into the culvert, and tumbled into a deep ravine.
In this accident, Tanvi Acharya (50) died on the spot, while Neelam Pandit (55) succumbed to her injuries during treatment at the hospital. The injured include Uday Joshi (64) and his wife Seema Joshi (59) from Dadar (Mumbai), Subodh Pandit (62) from Vasai (Palghar), and Atul Acharya (55) from Bhiwandi (Thane). They are all admitted to the Shivpuri district hospital, where their treatment continues. According to the police, the injured are in a serious but stable condition.
Doctors' Group on a Pilgrimage
Investigations revealed that the group embarked on a religious pilgrimage 10 days ago. The accident occurred while they were traveling from Ayodhya to Ujjain. The police have launched an investigation into the matter, trying to determine the true cause of the accident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver may have dozed off or the vehicle was speeding, leading to this tragic mishap.
