A heartrending incident has unfolded in Maharashtra's Palghar district. A six-year-old child fell into a water tank while playing, resulting in his tragic demise. According to police, the boy was playing outside when he unexpectedly fell into an open water tank. The entire area is engulfed in grief over the mishap. The police are diligently investigating the matter.

As per agency reports, this unfortunate event took place in the Shaligram colony of the Umroli area in Palghar district on Thursday. Police officials detailed that the child, while playing near the house, reached a water tank with no lid. Suddenly slipping, the innocent child fell straight into it.

When the family couldn't find the boy for an extended period, they began to search frantically. Despite their efforts, no trace was found, prompting them to report to the police. Subsequently, on Friday, a search operation was conducted with the assistance of locals and the fire brigade. During this operation, the child's body was discovered in the water tank.

The police have lodged a case of accidental death. The investigation is currently ongoing. This devastating accident has left the child's family shattered. The local community is deeply affected by this tragedy. They express that if the tank had been properly covered, the child might still be alive.
