A grave accident occurred on the Prosperity Highway passing through Jalna, Maharashtra, resulting in the instantaneous demise of seven individuals, while over ten passengers suffered serious injuries. The injured were promptly admitted to the hospital, and the police are thoroughly examining the incident.
Reportedly, the accident took place around 11 PM near Kadavanchi village on the Prosperity Highway within the Mumbai corridor zone. An Ertiga car traveling from Nagpur to Mumbai collided with an incoming Swift Dzire which was on the wrong side of the road. Following the incident, seven lives were lost, and about ten people were injured.
The Prosperity Highway authorities and Jalna district police arrived swiftly at the scene and, with the assistance of cranes, moved the vehicles to the side. The injured were transported to Jalna's public hospital.
Dr. Umesh Jadhav from Jalna's public hospital stated that four of the injured were rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Due to the severity of one individual's condition, they were transferred to the Government Hospital in Chatrapati Sambhajinagar. Soon after, three more injured individuals were brought in, two of whom were serious and also sent to Sambhajinagar. One patient, with a fractured arm, has been kept in the casualty ward, and six more patients were being brought to Jalna hospital. Ambulance doctors reported the seven fatalities.
