On Friday, a heart-wrenching accident on the Nadiad–Kapadvanj Highway in Kheda district, Gujarat, claimed the lives of a 7-year-old girl and a 24-year-old woman instantly. The horrific incident involved a head-on collision between a CNG rickshaw and a motorcycle near Vadtal Raijipura Patia in Mahemdavad Taluka.
The accident occurred when a family from the Kapadvanj area was returning home on their motorcycle. Near Vadtal Raijipura Patia, they met with a tragic collision with an oncoming CNG rickshaw. The impact was so severe that the young girl and the woman lost their lives on the spot, leading to chaos at the accident scene.
Three other individuals involved in the crash, riding on the CNG rickshaw and motorcycle, sustained critical injuries. Demonstrating commendable promptness, local residents swiftly transported the injured to a nearby hospital. The critically injured are currently receiving treatment in a private hospital in Kathlal, where their condition remains serious. A dedicated team of doctors is tirelessly working to stabilize their health.
Death of Two Individuals in the Accident
Upon receiving the distressing news, Mahudha Police promptly arrived at the scene to initiate rescue and relief operations. The deceased were sent to Mahudha Community Health Center for postmortem examinations, as police began probing into the accident's causes.
The police have cleared the damaged vehicles from the road to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, as a temporary disruption had affected the highway. Preliminary investigations suggest that high speed and the head-on nature of the collision were likely factors contributing to the accident.
This devastating occurrence has cast a pall of grief over the local community. In response, local residents are urging the authorities to bolster safety measures on the highway and implement strict controls against speeding vehicles to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The police have registered the case and have embarked on further legal proceedings.
