The lifeless body of 38-year-old beautician Meenu Prajapati was discovered hanging in the Bhagwantpura area of Jhansi’s Sadar police precinct. The family alleges foul play, accusing Irfan, Meenu's partner, of murder, staging it as a suicide. Meenu had been cohabiting with Irfan, who was already married, and disputes escalated after he recently married for the second time. The police have taken custody of the body for a postmortem and plan further action based on the report.
Conflict Born from a Live-In Bond
Meenu and Irfan's friendship spans nearly two decades. Following her divorce, their interactions intensified, and they began cohabiting. Trouble brewed when Irfan entered into another marriage, leaving Meenu stressed and strained.
Family Claims– Murder Disguised as Suicide
Meenu's brother-in-law Shriram and brother Rakesh assert that Meenu was killed. They allege her feet touched the ground and her body bore injuries. They claim Irfan sought to expedite the cremation without informing the police.

Police Statement– Awaiting Postmortem Results
Station In-charge Prakash Singh of Sadar Bazar stated that Meenu and Irfan had been in a long-standing relationship, and the preliminary investigation suggests suicide. CO City Laxmikant Gautam confirmed the postmortem and that actions would follow upon receiving the report.
How Meenu Grew Close to Irfan
The deceased's brother-in-law mentioned Meenu was set up with her own house by her father in Bhagwantpura—a residence she occupied for several years. Meenu worked and trained in a beauty parlor in Nandanpura, where she met Irfan, a friend of her companion’s brother, over 20 years ago.
In 2012, Meenu was married off in Morena, but discord arose six months post-nuptial, leading to her divorce. Moving back to her parents' home, she later settled in Bhagwantpura. Irfan was a regular visitor at her house, and they eventually lived together. Despite being previously married, Irfan recently entered a second marriage, leaving Meenu disheartened by promises of marriage that were never fulfilled.
