For the first time in Bhopal, a body donor was posthumously honored with a state accolade. The mortal remains of 79-year-old Rama Chauda were handed over to Gandhi Medical College by her family on Friday. In accordance with the government of Madhya Pradesh's directives, her body was honored with a guard of honor.
In recent times, the Madhya Pradesh government approved a proposal in the cabinet to award state honors to those donating their bodies and organs. This led to the historic event at Gandhi Medical College, where for the first time, a deceased body was given such an honor.

The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Kavita N Singh, the Dean of Gandhi Medical College, along with Dr. Sandeep Marskole, Head of the Anatomy Department, faculty members, postgraduate students, and staff. Everyone respectfully received the mortal remains of Rama Chauda.
