Donald Trump has appointed his close associate, Sergio Gor, as the U.S. ambassador to India. He will also serve as the special envoy for South and Central Asia. This announcement was made by Trump through a post on his social media platform, Truth Social. Sergio Gor is currently the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office. Upon confirmation by the U.S. Senate, he will be the new permanent U.S. ambassador to India. Notably, seven months after Eric Garcetti's departure, America has appointed a permanent ambassador to India. Sergio Gor will be the 26th U.S. ambassador to India.
In his Truth Social post, Trump said, ‘I am pleased to announce the appointment of Sergio Gor as the next U.S. ambassador to India and the special envoy for South and Central Asian affairs.’ Donald Trump described Sergio Gor as a close associate, friend, and someone he can fully trust. Trump stated, 'For the world's most populous region, it is essential to have someone who can fully implement my agenda and lead us toward the goal of Making America Great Again (MAGA). Sergio will prove to be an excellent ambassador.'

He completed his education at George Washington University, where he was involved with the College Republicans and supported Senator John McCain's presidential campaign in 2008.
