In a tragic incident late Saturday night at New Delhi railway station, a stampede resulted in the unfortunate loss of 18 lives and left several injured. Authorities have now released a list identifying these victims hailing from Bihar, Delhi, and Haryana.
The list confirmed by the administration includes Aha Devi (79), wife of Ravindra Nath from Buxar; Poonam Devi (40), wife of Meghnath from Saran; Lalita Devi (35), wife of Santosh from Parna; Suruchi (11), daughter of Manoj Shah from Muzaffarpur; Krishna Devi (40), wife of Vijay Shah from Samastipur; Vijay Sah (15), son of Ram Sarup Sah from Samastipur; Neeraj (12), son of Indrajit Paswan from Vaishali; Shanti Devi (40), wife of Raj Kumar Manjhi, and Pooja Kumar (8), daughter of Raj Kumar Manjhi, both from Nawada. All these victims were residents of Bihar.

Eight Victims from Delhi Confirmed
Among the casualties were Pinky Devi (41), wife of Upendra Sharma from Sangam Vihar; Sheela Devi (50), wife of Umesh Giri from Sarita Vihar; Vyom (25), son of Dharmveer from Bawana; Poonam (34), wife of Virendra Singh from Mahavir Enclave; Mamta Jha (40), wife of Vipin Jha from Nangloi; Riya Singh (7), daughter of Opil Singh from Sagarpur; Baby Kumari (24), daughter of Prabhu Sah from Bijwasan; Manoj (47), son of Panchdev Kushwaha from Nangloi. Additionally, victim Sangeeta Malik (34), wife of Mohit Malik from Bhiwani, Haryana, was identified.

Announcement of Compensation
In response, railway authorities have declared a compensation relief for those affected by this horrific event. Families of the deceased will receive a compensation of up to 1 million rupees, while those severely injured will receive 2.5 lakh rupees, and those with minor injuries will be granted 1 lakh rupees.

President Droupadi Murmu conveyed her sorrow over the unfortunate incident at New Delhi railway station. The President's Office posted on X, saying, 'Deeply saddened to hear about the loss of life in the stampede at New Delhi railway station. I express heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured a speedy recovery.'
