Police Issue Traffic Advisory for Government Oath Ceremony, Traffic to Halt on These Routes

According to Delhi Police officials, five companies of paramilitary forces will be deployed at the President's House. Additionally, NSG commandos, drones, and snipers will secure the venue during the event.

The Modi government's grand swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for today. Extensive preparations are underway, with about 1,100 traffic personnel deployed. A traffic advisory has been issued. The oath-taking ceremony is expected to start at 6 PM and will likely draw large crowds, potentially impacting traffic around the President's House. Five companies of paramilitary forces will be stationed for the security of the President's House. Additionally, NSG commandos, drones, and snipers will be on duty during the function.

According to news agency ANI, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Prashant Gautam stated that around 1,100 traffic officials have been assigned. They have been briefed on all instructions, and rehearsals are complete. An advisory for the traffic movement has been issued for the public. The DCP asserted that appropriate arrangements have been made for the incoming foreign dignitaries and heads of state. A separate route has been arranged, and a control area has been established.

From 2 PM to 11 PM, traffic will be closed here

Delhi Traffic Police report that on June 9, from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, traffic will be closed on these roads. Only pedestrians will be allowed to move on these routes.

No vehicle will be allowed to enter or stop on these routes.

Vehicles parked on the aforementioned roads will be towed by traffic police and legal proceedings will be initiated against violators. Towed vehicles will be parked at the Traffic Pit near Gole Dak Khana on Pandit Pant Marg. Additionally, DTC buses will not be allowed to operate on the roads surrounding the President's House.

Before the oath-taking, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Rajghat at 6:30 AM, 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial at 7:00 AM, and the War Memorial at 7:30 AM. Traffic in these areas will be diverted between 6:45 AM and 8:45 AM.

Use public transportation to reach your destination

As per the Delhi Traffic Police, avoid traveling through the aforementioned roads if possible. Use public transportation to bypass and reach your destination efficiently. The Delhi Traffic Police advised those heading towards ISBT/railway station/airport to plan their journey carefully.
