The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has extended a helping hand to families who allegedly lost loved ones due to anxiety and stress associated with the ongoing Special Intensive Rectification (SIR) process in West Bengal.
Following the directives of TMC's national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, special teams have been formed to meet the affected families personally. These leaders are offering not only emotional support but are also ensuring that practical and administrative assistance is continuously available. This initiative aims to prevent grieving families from feeling isolated and to stand by them in their sorrow.
A TMC leader mentioned that representatives would personally visit families who reportedly lost members due to suicide or stress linked to the SIR process. They will maintain regular contact and provide all kinds of support as instructed by the national general secretary.
According to a party leader, this outreach campaign is conducted to provide both emotional and practical support to mourning families.
TMC claims that the confusion caused by the Election Commission's SIR process has pushed many into mental distress. The BJP has dismissed these allegations, labeling them as politically motivated claims.
It is important to note that this process has become a source of tension in Bengal. TMC accuses BJP of using this process to reduce the number of voters, while the BJP asserts that these are mere rumors. The aim of this process is to ensure the accuracy of the voter list.
