Donald Trump has once again highlighted the benefits of tariffs. In a social media post, he declared that under his leadership, America is progressing rapidly and labeled critics of US tariffs as 'fools.' Additionally, he promised a $2000 dividend to almost every American from tariff revenue.

Benefits of Tariffs, Aimed at Critics

Donald Trump, who has instilled fear with his tariff policies globally, continues to enumerate the benefits to America. In a new post on his Truth Social platform, he promoted his trade policies and claimed that under his leadership, America is the wealthiest and most respected nation in the world, experiencing record stock values, high 401(k) balances, and a surge in jobs and factory openings.

Trump defended the use of tariffs as a key factor for America’s economic strength and targeted those opposing and criticizing tariffs. He wrote, 'Those against tariffs are fools!' The US president argued that tariffs have boosted investment and job opportunities.

'$2000 for Every American'

Declaring critics of tariffs as fools, President Donald Trump made a bold promise in his Truth Social post, stating that US Tariff Revenue will be used to provide almost every American (excluding high-income individuals) with a $2,000 payment as part of the tariff dividend. However, he did not clarify the payment's process and timing.

Billions from Tariffs, Reducing Debt

Trump further wrote, 'Tariff revenue is bringing in billions, which can be used to start paying down the national debt, now at $37 trillion.' Trump's latest claim comes as his tariff program faces legal uncertainty.

It's notable that there was a heated debate in the US Supreme Court recently regarding President Donald Trump’s tariff policy. During the two and a half-hour hearing, judges questioned the validity of the tariffs. Chief Justice John Roberts even remarked to US Solicitor General D. John Sauer that tariffs are akin to imposing taxes on Americans, which, according to the Constitution, is Congress's authority.
