Police in Thane, Maharashtra have arrested four Bangladeshi nationals living illegally. Regarding this case, an officer of the Thane police said on Saturday that four Bangladeshi nationals were caught staying in the country without valid documents, and one person was arrested for aiding them.
An officer from the Manpada police station identified the Bangladeshi nationals as Lucky Nazrul Sheikh (35), Mohammad Shabbir Hussain (30), Rukhsana Tausif Sheikh (45), and Tausif Firaj Sheikh (50). The name of their helper who got caught is Amir, who resides in Kona Gaon.
The senior officer said, 'We apprehended the Bangladeshi nationals on Friday during a raid on a flat in Pisavli, Kalyan. They had been living without valid documents since 2020.
Knowing that these people were from Bangladesh, one of them was also provided with a SIM card and a rented house. They have been charged under the Foreigners Act and the Passport (Entry into India) Act.'
Earlier in June, the Mumbai ATS had also captured Bangladeshi nationals staying illegally. The arrested individuals were not only living illegally but had also made their documents. ATS had arrested four such foreign nationals. All four were originally from Bangladesh and were living illegally in Mumbai. They had forged documents and had even voted in the last Lok Sabha election. Along with them, five others had escaped before the raid.
