In Mahua, Vaishali district, Bihar, on Wednesday, Tej Pratap Yadav, the eldest son of Lalu Yadav, shook the political scene as he openly challenged his brother and RJD leader, Tejashwi Yadav. Breaking away from the party and Tejashwi's stance, he announced his candidacy from Mahua, asking the people for one more chance. During this time, Tej Pratap not only projected himself as a strong contender but also directly targeted Tejashwi Yadav.

Tej Pratap's Challenge to Tejashwi

In response to Tejashwi portraying himself as Arjun and Tej Pratap as Krishna, Tej Pratap countered, 'I had considered Tejashwi to be Arjun, but if he truly is, let him demonstrate his skills by playing the flute like me. Only then will I accept him.' This statement signals the widening political rift between the brothers.

On reaching Mahua, Tej Pratap Yadav clearly stated, 'My decision to contest the elections is final.' Appealing emotionally to the people of Mahua, he said he had served them before and seeks another opportunity to do so.

Why Tejashwi Called Him Krishna

A couple of days ago, during an event, Tejashwi Yadav referred to Tej Pratap as his Krishna and himself as Arjun in response to a question. To this, Tej Pratap firmly stated that there is no need to remind him of the Krishna-Arjun relationship, as he is set to run for elections.

Tej Pratap also remarked, 'The dream of social justice remains incomplete until people align with Tej Pratap.' He presented himself as a true soldier of the socialist movement, asserting that it is time for the people to recognize the real servant.

Challenges for RJD?

This move by Tej Pratap Yadav might escalate the family dispute further. Notably, Mahua is the same seat where he previously held the position of MLA and now is set to test his luck again. This statement is likely to stir tensions within the party as Tej Pratap's stance poses a significant challenge to the party leadership.
