Chandrasekaran issued an official statement, assuring that the Tata Group will give ₹1 crore to the family of each person who perished in this tragedy.

The statement also clarified that the Tata Group will cover all medical expenses for the injured and provide all necessary care and support. Furthermore, the Tata Group will assist in the reconstruction of the damaged B.J. Medical College doctors’ hostel due to the crash.

An Incident During Take-off
On Thursday afternoon, a significant plane crash occurred in the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad. Air India’s flight AI-171, bound for London, unexpectedly collided with a nearby medical college building within minutes of takeoff. Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft was flying unusually low and collided directly with five-story buildings, igniting fires within them. The crash severely damaged several nearby structures, injuring dozens, though official confirmations are pending.
This Boeing 787 Dreamliner had 242 people on board, including crew members. The crash happened around 2 PM, near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Many fatalities are feared.
