On September 8, an FIR was lodged against former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for his involvement in the police suppression incident. The FIR demands an investigation into these heinous crime allegations against Oli.

In response to Gen Z's outrage, KP Sharma Oli stepped down from the Prime Minister's position on September 9. He had been sworn in as Prime Minister in July 2024, only to see his tenure cut short just over a year later.

Interim PM Sushila Karki May Expand Her Cabinet Tomorrow

Tomorrow, on Sunday, Nepal's Interim Prime Minister, Sushila Karki, is expected to expand her cabinet. She spent Saturday in discussions with Gen Z representatives and several other political and social groups, aiming to garner cooperation and support for the forthcoming cabinet expansion.

Close sources to Karki indicate that final decisions on new cabinet members will likely be made by tomorrow. It is expected that the names will be announced, and the new ministers will be sworn in on the same day.
