Amid fears of millions of names being removed from the voter list under the Special Intensive Revision in Bihar, numerous petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court. On Monday, senior advocate Kapil Sibal requested an urgent hearing on the matter, which the Supreme Court has agreed to consider on Thursday.

Joining Kapil Sibal, senior advocates Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Shadab Farasat, and Gopal Sankaranarayanan highlighted the potential removal of millions, especially women and the underprivileged, from the voter rolls.

Demand for Immediate Halt to Amendment Process

Petitioners are seeking an immediate cessation of the amendment process. They emphasize the need for a hearing today or tomorrow due to the short deadline from the Election Commission. By July 25, a widescale name removal operation is underway statewide.
