An incident of fraudulent admission in an MBBS course using fake documents has emerged in Uttar Pradesh. The student Madhavi was trying to secure admission in the second year of MBBS at Saraswati Institute of Medical Sciences in Hapur by presenting a falsified NEET scorecard. The Allahabad High Court has ordered the filing of an FIR against the student for using forged documents in her application to gain admission in the institute. The order was issued during the hearing of a petition filed by Madhavi Tiwari, an MBBS student.
Madhavi herself filed the petition in the High Court
The student Madhavi petitioned the court to direct the medical college to grant her admission into the second year so she could resume her studies. In her petition, Madhavi stated she had passed her first-year MBBS exam, but the medical college refused admission into the second year.
The college revealed Madhavi's fake NEET scorecard
Responding to the student's petition, the medical college administration submitted a counter-affidavit in the court saying that Madhavi's NEET scorecard and admit card were found to be forged. Based on the college's report, the Pilkhuwa Police registered a case following the court order and launched an investigation.
Medical College Principal shared this information
Saraswati Medical College Principal Saurabh Goyal informed Aaj Tak over the phone that the complaint lodged at the police station upon the order of the High Court detailed that online applications were sought for admission into all medical institutions on December 2, 2019. The NEET examination was conducted on September 13 and 14, 2020, with results declared on October 16, 2020.
Falsified 513 points shown in NEET
It is alleged that Madhavi Tiwari, a resident of Friend Colony, Etawah, created fake documents showing 585 marks out of 720 to gain admission into MBBS. The investigation team, formed by the High Court's order, caught the fraud. The student had also passed the first-year exams. The college had suspended her second-year admission due to suspicion of fake documents. Following this, Madhavi Tiwari filed a writ in the High Court, demanding the college be instructed to allow her to continue further studies. The court, hearing the case, asked for a report from the investigation committee it formed. The committee found that the student had indeed participated in NEET, scoring 72 out of 720. She obtained MBBS admission based on falsified documents, which led to the court directing the filing of a case against her.
Following the High Court's order, a case has been registered against the student at the Pilkhuwa Police Station. CO Pilkhuwa Jitendra Sharma stated that based on the High Court's order, a fraud case has been filed against Madhavi Tiwari, a resident of Friend Colony, Etawah. The police are currently investigating the matter and will proceed accordingly after the investigation.
