India Today Conclave 2024:
On the final day of the India Today Conclave's two-day event, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Foundation, delved into the concept of 'Ram Rajya'. He clarified that we are actually living in the Dwapara Yuga, not the Kali Yuga, and predicted a complete transition to Treta Yuga by 2083.
Entering Treta Yuga in 2083
When asked about the vision of 'Ram Rajya', Sadhguru said, "It is crucial to understand that we are not in Kaliyug. The discussions around Kaliyug persist because Krishna mentioned it during the battle of Kurukshetra. Based on the planetary positions, the planet shifts approximately one degree every 72 years, completing a cycle of 25,920 years. This cycle transitions from Satyuga to Treta, then Dwapar, and finally to Kaliyug. However, this has already taken place, and by 2083, we'll be fully transiting from Dwapara Yuga to Treta Yuga."
The Essence of Ram Rajya Is Not a Perfect Nation: Sadhguru
He continued, "The concept of Ram Rajya is a metaphorical choice. While some revere Ram as God, generally, he's honored as 'Purushottam', the supreme among men, also known as 'Maryada Purushottam'. This signifies his purposeful existence. In context, the aim of a Ram Rajya is to strive for the creation of an exemplary nation. Success is not measured by attainment, but by the effort to achieve it. A perfect life or nation could be attributed only to the deceased, for the living can only strive. The day you stop trying is the day you perish. We're discussing the endeavor to build an exemplary nation, not its actualization, as it is an impossible feat."
