Following the devastating stampede during a spiritual discourse in Hathras that claimed 121 lives, devotees continued to chant praises at Bhole Baba's residence in Agra. Bhole Baba's abode in Kedar Nagar Colony, Agra, where he lived 25 years ago, has become a sanctuary of faith. Prior to settling here, he had left his career in the police force to embark on a spiritual journey.

Bhole Baba, who resigned from the police force around 1999 or 2000, became immersed in spiritual teachings at his Kedar Nagar residence. The house witnessed a growing congregation of followers, turning it into a magnet for spirituality even though Baba has not resided there for the past 25 years.

The modest dwelling in Kedar Nagar with its two rooms had become dilapidated, especially during the pandemic. The devoted have since restored the house to its former glory, with glistening plaster and tiles. Baba's method of bathing in milk, while seated in a large plate, makes this place a revered spot for the faithful.

Every day, devotees visit this humble house to express their adoration by bowing their heads against its threshold. Such is their devotion that dust is nowhere to be seen, thanks to the daily cleaning by women with their saris and dupattas. Even after the Hathras incident, the stream of devoted continued unabated in the morning.

Bhole Baba's real name is Soorajpal, hailing from Bahadur Nagar in Kasganj district. Following his resignation from the police force in the late 1990s, Soorajpal, also revered as Bhole Baba, began offering spiritual discourses, gaining a massive following among the underprivileged and those seeking guidance. Now, millions consider him divine, transcending his humble origins and becoming a messianic figure for many.
