The political temperature in Uttar Pradesh is rising as the aftermath of an attack on Samajwadi Party's Rajya Sabha MP, Ramji Lal Suman's home continues. SP has threatened state-wide demonstrations after Eid if no action is taken. Meanwhile, the MP remains steadfast, refusing to apologize for his remarks on Rana Sanga, asserting that history cannot be denied. In the wake of events, he has requested the Speaker to enhance his security.
On Thursday, the MP declared, 'In this lifetime, I will not apologize, though I am uncertain about the next.' His statement followed an alleged attack by members of Karni Sena at his residence.
Embracing Truth...
Suman stated, 'They need to learn to accept the truth. Rana Sanga invited Babur to defeat Ibrahim Lodi, believing Babur to be a plunderer who would leave and allow self-rule.'
He continued, 'There was a pact for Rana Sanga to attack Agra, and when the agreement failed, the battle ensued at Fatehpur Sikri. Rana Sanga fought valiantly, but lost. This is history; who can deny it?'
Intent to Harm Family
Suman alleged that the attackers intended harm upon his family. 'I've briefed the Rajya Sabha Speaker about the situation. I need protection. Threats have been coming since March 22 on social media, and yesterday they arrived with bulldozers at my home,' he conveyed.
'It was a life-threatening attack. They shattered windows, damaged cars in the colony... their intention was to destroy my family,' he added.
Recently, Suman referred to Rana Sanga as a traitor in the Rajya Sabha, claiming he brought Babur to defeat Ibrahim Lodi. Rana Sanga, also known as Sangram Singh I, ruled Mewar from 1508 to 1528.
Karni Sena's Rampage
Hundreds of Karni Sena activists vandalized the MP's house near Hariparvat intersection on Wednesday. Several vehicles parked outside were damaged, chairs were smashed, and windows shattered.
FIR Filed by Agra Police
A video of the incident circulating on social media depicts police confronting the mob, creating chaos in the upscale area, leaving one police officer injured. The Agra police filed an FIR against an unidentified mob the day after the residence attack.
Meanwhile, Karni Sena leader Suraj Pal Singh Amu stated that the remark dishonors the hero who defeated the Mughals, demanding apologies from Suman and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Karni Sena Files Complaint
The Karni Sena filed a complaint against SP MP Ramji Lal Suman in the escalating dispute at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow on Thursday.

SP Plans Post-Eid Protests
SP's national secretary, Ramgopal Yadav remarked, 'We’ll shake the government if no action is taken against those who attacked Ramji Lal Suman's house. A state-wide movement will occur after Eid. The struggle is against feudal forces. If it were someone from Ramji Lal Suman's community, would they have attacked? Attacking his house is an attack on the entire Dalit community.'
