New revelations emerge daily in the King Raghuwanshi murder case in Indore. In a conversation with Aaj Tak, Raja's brother, Vipin Raghuwanshi, stated that someone close to Sonam's family shared with him that Sonam revealed to her mother about loving someone else. Despite this, her family insisted, 'Love anyone, but your marriage will happen within the society.' Sonam then remarked she'd accept any consequences post-marriage but would not be accountable for the outcome.

'Sonam Ignored Raja'

Uma Raghuwanshi, Raja's mother, disclosed that Raja often mentioned Sonam would not converse with him, often ignoring him. Her father claimed their daughter was well-behaved and refrained from going out. She merely booked tickets to Shillong, seeking Raja's happiness which was enough for them.

This claim now serves as a significant hint in this assassination connection. Police scrutinize this angle to determine whether familial pressure and relationship complexities led to the murder. The investigation is progressing with the police assessing every facet thoroughly.

Raja Raghuwanshi's Body Discovered in a Gorge on June 2

Remember that Raja and Sonam married on May 11, followed by a trip to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. On May 23, they mysteriously disappeared.

On June 2, roughly ten days later, Raja's body was found in a deteriorated state in a gorge at Weesaudong near Sohra (Cherrapunji). Close by, a raincoat confirmed the murder. Identification was verified via the 'Raja' tattoo on his right hand and a waterproof smartwatch around his wrist.

Crucial Clues from the Crime Scene

Several items including a woman’s white shirt, a strip of Pantop 40 pills, a broken mobile phone, a smartwatch, and a newly sharpened weapon were found near the crime scene. The post-mortem revealed Raja's murder was committed using a sharp tree-felling weapon. Initially, police explored the angle of robbery but found no substantial leads. Investigation into Raja’s phone records also yielded no critical clues. Now, police are channeling their efforts in new directions to untangle this case.

Once police scrutinized Sonam's call records, suspicion gravitated towards her, although Raja’s family trusted her completely. Her call logs provided police with pivotal evidence resolving the case. Police are now escorting Sonam to Meghalaya to unify these threads and bring the case to a resolution.
