Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been remanded to 6-day Enforcement Directorate custody by the Rouse Avenue Court, scheduled for appearance on March 28 at 2 PM. Union Minister Smriti Irani, in a press conference, proclaimed that the mastermind behind the liquor scam is now in custody. She stated that all documents at hand are incredibly damning. In court today, when evidence was presented that specific liquor firms, identified by Arvind Kejriwal's aide Vijay Nair, drafted a liquor policy, not a single lawyer from Kejriwal's side refuted these facts. Irani stressed that the concerning details cited for integrity have finally been exposed.
Irani mentioned court allegations of certain bank transactions, where Samir Mahendru moved 1 crore INR to Radha Industries, and subsequently transferred 2 to 4 crore INR to Vijay Nair. No denial came from Kejriwal, nor did he distance himself from these allegations.
Bharatiya Janata Party MP Manoj Tiwari launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party, saying no one is coming to Kejriwal's defense. He suggested that support for AAP and the CM would wane in days. He observed public celebrations at Kejriwal's arrest, with people bursting crackers and sharing sweets in various areas.
Tiwari accused Gopal Rai and Atishi of only issuing statements for two days, driven by ambitions to become CM themselves, labeling all leaders from India Block as corrupt. When questioned about CM Kejriwal's wife Sunita's recent tweet, Tiwari expressed empathy, stating she could never have imagined her husband behind bars.
