Today, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) will question Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ziaur Rehman Birk from the Sambhal constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Recently, an SIT notice was delivered to MP Birk at his residence in Delhi. The team is keen to extract crucial information from him regarding the violent events of November 24, for which he has been cited as a key conspirator.

On March 23, during an interrogation with the Jama Masjid Committee member Zafar Ali, the SIT uncovered evidence suggesting Birk's involvement. Consequently, the police dossier on the November 24 violence details a conspiracy involving Birk and Zafar Ali.

The House Surveyed

Recently, the investigation team conducted a thorough survey of MP Birk's residence, bolstered by substantial police presence to maintain peace. Several notices had previously been sent to Birk pertaining to the construction. An ACM-led committee was created to scrutinize whether unauthorized constructions occurred, with their report due by March 22. However, the committee missed the deadline.

In February, the administration imposed a fine on Birk after he sought additional time to submit his response and was penalized by SDM Vandana Mishra with a fine of INR 500.
