In light of the recent violence on November 24 in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, the police plan to question Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur-Rahman Birk. The UP Police arrived with a notice to inquire, but when the SIT team reached his home, he was not present and was reported to be in Delhi. A significant police presence is stationed outside the residence.

Because MP Ziaur-Rahman Birk was not present at his home, the police were unable to serve a notice for inquiry.

Charges Against MP Birk Over Conspiracy

The escalation of police action is evident in the case of the violence around Jama Masjid, Sambhal, on November 24, 2024. On March 23, the SIT team interrogated and later arrested Advocate Zafar Ali, the head of the Jama Masjid Committee, for four hours, following which he was sent to jail. Now, the SIT team arrived at the MP's Dipasarai residence to serve a notice for questioning, linked to an alleged conspiracy involving violence that led to charges against Ziaur-Rahman Birk.
