Five Rounds Fired by the Assailants

At around 4:50 AM, the shooters fired five rounds outside Salman's Bandra-based apartment, Galaxy. The bullet marks can be seen on the walls of the actor's house. One bullet even struck the net of his balcony, where the shell was later found. This balcony is where Salman famously greets his fans. The assailants reportedly used a 7.65MM bore pistol for the shooting.

Understanding the Arms Act

The Arms Act, also known as the Firearms Act, strictly prohibits displaying or using weapons in public spaces. Under Indian law, carrying firearms is restricted and only permitted with a license issued by the District Magistrate. The Arms Act also bans swords and other weapons, with some exceptions made for certain communities under specified conditions by the central government. Violating the law can result in severe punishment, including a minimum of three years' imprisonment.
