The Central Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has raised concerns about Air India's services through a tweet, highlighting the poor seat condition on the plane. He mentioned that he was allocated seat 8C on flight AI436 from Bhopal to Delhi, which was broken and sunken, making it uncomfortable to sit.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan shared a post on social media platform X and tagged Air India. In the post, he explained that he had to travel to Delhi to inaugurate a farmers' fair in Pusa, attend a meeting on natural farming in Kurukshetra, and discuss with representatives of farmers' organizations in Chandigarh. Although he had purchased a ticket for Air India flight AI436 and was given seat 8C, upon sitting, he discovered it was broken and uncomfortable.

Chouhan further wrote that when he questioned the flight crew about the broken seat assignment, they stated that management had been previously informed about its condition and that it was unfit to sell tickets for it. He was also informed that other seats shared similar issues. Despite fellow passengers offering their seats, he opted to endure the journey on his assigned seat, preventing inconvenience to others.

Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his disappointment, hoping the services would improve under Tata management. He not only worried about his own discomfort but considered it unethical for passengers to be charged fully and then seated on faulty seats. Is this deceit towards passengers? Will Air India take steps to prevent future discomfort, or continue exploiting passengers' need for timely travel?
In response to Shivraj Singh Chouhan's complaint, Air India replied via their official X (Twitter) handle, stating, "Dear Sir, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. We are looking into this matter and would like to speak with you. Please DM us at your convenience."
