An astonishing incident unfolded in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. A bride, hands beautified with henna, awaited her marriage ceremony, but the groom's procession never arrived. This left the bride's family heartbroken. The distressed father, accompanied by his daughter, approached the SP office seeking justice against the accused groom.

The wedding of Shazia, from the Karbai village in the Banda district's rural police station area, was scheduled for February 23 with Naushad Hussain from Kalinjar police station region. All wedding preparations were made, and arrangements to welcome the groom's party were in place. However, at the last minute, the groom’s side refused to attend.

Victim Shazia reveals that a day before the wedding, the groom's family called to demand a Bullet bike and a gold chain. Her family, unable to meet these demands, was then told the wedding wouldn't proceed, and no procession would come. Distressed, Shazia turned to the SP office for justice, tearfully sharing her disbelief over the situation. Her dreams, once adorned with henna, were shattered, leaving wedding preparations and guests without a ceremony. This was a deeply embarrassing and humiliating event for the family.

Demand for Dowry and Love Affair Revealed

Shazia’s father alleges that shortly before the ceremony, the groom's side unexpectedly demanded expensive items, and refused to bring the procession when unmet. Meanwhile, the police investigation unveiled the groom had a romantic relationship with another woman, whom he wishes to marry. Given the seriousness of the situation, the SP office has ordered a thorough investigation.

Police Launch Investigation

Chief Inspector (SHO) of Kalinjar Thana, Dipendra Kumar, stated that, upon learning of the incident, both parties were summoned. Initial investigations revealed the groom loved another woman, leading him to call off the procession. The matter is under investigation, and suitable action will follow based on the report.
