Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, expressed gratitude to the Narendra Modi government. He said, “I thank Prime Minister Modi for the swift action that saved my mother's life. In a video message, he stated, 'My message to the Indian government is my personal gratitude for the quick actions that saved my mother's life. I will always be thankful for that. My other message is that India should play a leadership role globally and not let other foreign powers control the current situation because Bangladesh is a neighbor of India.'
In the video message, he added, 'This is the eastern part of India. A proven track record that no one can deny is that Sheikh Hasina's government maintained peace in Bangladesh, sustained economic growth, curbed extremism, and kept the eastern part of our subcontinent stable. We are the only government that proved this can be done. Other governments tried but failed.'
Sheikh Hasina will soon return to Bangladesh: Sajeeb Wazed Joy

He said, 'My mother is focusing on resurrecting her party, the Awami League.' Sajeeb emphasized that once the elections are held, the party will come back into power.
In an interview with Aajtak Bangla, Wazed mentioned that Sheikh Hasina has not applied for asylum in any country and intends to return to Bangladesh soon.
Wazed stressed, 'There is a lot of misinformation. She has not applied for asylum anywhere, whether in the UK, US, or Finland. She has no plans to move away from her country. She wants to return to Bangladesh soon.'
Sheikh Hasina is currently in India
Sheikh Hasina resigned as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and left the country amidst violent protests on August 5. She is currently in India. Wazed mentioned that a decision on whether Hasina will retire or continue in politics will be made after further discussions. Earlier, Wazed hinted that Hasina might retire from politics. He said, 'No decision has been made yet. There is a need for restructuring within the Awami League, and she is focusing on that.' Wazed stated that Hasina is committed to revitalizing the party, she has confidence in the strength of the Awami League, and is hopeful for a strong return.
Sheikh Hasina's son said, 'Yes, she was disheartened when we saw our leaders and activists being targeted. We said our leaders and activists cannot be left like this. They need to be organized and kept safe. She has complete faith in the strength of the Awami League and hopes for a powerful comeback.'
