An eight-year-old child in Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, was tragically killed after bravely resisting sexual abuse. The police registered a case under the pertinent provisions of the Indian Penal Code based on the victim's family's complaint. During the inquiry, the accused was identified and subsequently arrested. Further investigations are underway.

According to Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi, the child went missing on March 23 from Nagla Narayanpur village. Based on suspicion, the police searched extensively along a local river but initially found no traces of the boy. On April 5, they discovered torn clothing and skeletal remains in a nearby field, prompting immediate police action.

Upon investigation, it was confirmed these remains were of a young boy. It was revealed that the accused, from the same village, had taken his nephew and the boy to the fields. After sending his nephew back, he attempted to abuse the boy. The child resisted, threatening to inform his family.

Furious, the accused strangled the child, resulting in his death. A case was filed against the accused based on a written complaint from the victim's family. The accused was arrested and is now in custody while a police team diligently pursues the case.

It was reported that recently, in another incident in Shahjahanpur district, a man murdered his daughter-in-law with an axe and then died by suicide. Known for his alcohol addiction, the accused frequently argued with his daughter-in-law. Police sent both bodies for post-mortem examination.

Superintendent Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi elaborated that this incident occurred on Tuesday in Hathi Pur Kuria village under Kant police station jurisdiction. On Wednesday morning, the tragedy came to light, prompting immediate police action. Initially, it was learned that the accused, Rajpal Satya (aged 70), killed his daughter-in-law Sumitra (aged 30) and then fled from his home.

Further investigation revealed the accused's body hanging from a tree in an orchard. Referencing initial inquiries and local testimonies, the SP noted the accused's issues with alcohol, suggesting a possible argument led to the fatal axe attack. Consequently, Sumitra's death was confirmed.

A forensic team was dispatched to the crime scene. Meanwhile, the police remain active in the village, with the investigation ongoing. The deceased woman's husband, a truck driver, was away during the incident. The axe used in the murder has been recovered, and the police continue their thorough investigation.
