After 11 months, a sinister murder has been solved by the Bijnor Police. The investigation revealed the startling fact that the killer was the victim's own cousin. It's believed the deceased harbored unsavory intentions towards his cousin's wife and had even sent compromising photos of his sister-in-law to others.

The police hunt for the accused, Prem Singh, spanned 11 months following the heinous act. After committing the crime, he fled to Delhi and started a new life there. The authorities faced considerable challenges in tracking him down, but they have finally apprehended Prem Singh and his sister-in-law, now both in custody.

Unraveling the Case

On the 13th of March, 2023, Prem Singh shot his cousin Rajendra dead using a pistol. Singh then absconded, taking refuge in Delhi. He suspected Rajendra of casting lewd glances at Singh's wife and spreading sordid images of his sister-in-law.

On that fateful day along the Dehradun-Nainital National Highway, near the village of Mubarakpur Kunda, responders discovered an unidentified body in a ravine. The deceased was later identified as Rajendra aka Jitendra from the village of Shivpuri in Afzalgarh, with a bullet wound to his head. Following his sister Geeta's complaint accusing three people, the police made arrests.

The investigation unfolded, resulting in the arrest of the main suspect, Prem Singh, and his sister-in-law, Kumari Neerja. During interrogation, Singh confessed that he had brokered Rajendra's marriage with Neerja, his sister-in-law.

Illicit Gaze and Lewd Photos

According to Prem Singh, Rajendra was not just eyeing his wife but also used to make inappropriate jokes. There was frequent visiting which increased tensions. Rajendra had snapped compromising photos of Neerja and circulated them. He then rejected the marriage, leading to returned engagement gifts and continuous threats.

'One day, after he had drunk, I devised a plan to dispose of him,' said Singh. Under the pretext of dropping him home, he took Rajendra out and shot him on a deserted spot, later fleeing to Delhi.

The intricate investigation has led to the arrest of both Singh and Neerja, the latter having been aware of the crime but chose silence. They now face trial for their actions.
